Complying with Minors on Campus Policy

University Programs

Each Authorized Adult/Program Staff member who will be participating in a program covered by the Minors on Campus policy is required to do the following:

TRAINING

1) Complete the form to request access to our Minors on Campus course (via our online Compliance system) (41 minutes), which includes a short-test and an acknowledgment of compliance with the policy as well as of having read the policy and viewed the course.

    • This course must be completed at least seven days prior to the start date of the program or activity involving minors.
    • Within five business days of receiving the request, you will receive a link to access the compliance system.

2) Attend annual mandatory training for which an attendance log is retained for auditing purposes: this training must be provided by the Sponsoring Unit and/or program which must include, at a minimum, the following information about responsibilities and expectations required under this policy:

  • procedures under this policy;
  • appropriate crisis/emergency responses;
  • safety and security precautions;
  • addressing medical emergencies;
  • university responsibility/liability.
  • how to report suspected child abuse in accordance with this policy
    • use of the following supplemental resources accessible in the Forms/Instructions Section of the :
      • Form E- What is Child Abuse and Neglect - Recognizing Signs and Symptoms
      • Form F. Preventing Child Sexual Abuse
  • protecting participants from abusive emotional and physical treatment.

The following is required for those Volunteering (in any capacity whether they are employees or non-employees)

If an authorized adult is a volunteer, they will also need to complete the background check along with completing the Volunteer Data Form. *
