Since 2022, the Dale Center has been a partner and sponsor of the , "A Literary Lawn Party," which is held every summer on the grounds of the state capitol in Jackson, Mississippi. Dale Center faculty often present their new books at the festival and also act as moderators for panels on new books about military history and war and society. It is a wonderful event each year and we hope you will join us at the next festival.

- At the 2024 Mississippi Book Festival, the Dale Center sponsored a panel on journalist and historian Garrett M. Graff's new book When the Sea Came Alive: An Oral History of D-Day (Simon & Schuster, 2024). The Dale Center's own Dr. Heather M. Stur was the moderator for the panel, which was covered by C-SPAN. - At the 2023 Mississippi Book Festival, the Dale Center sponsored the "America at War" panel, which was televised by C-SPAN. The panel was moderated by Dale Center Founding Director Dr. Andrew Wiest. The panel featured the Dale Center's Dr. Heather Stur discussing her new book 21 Days to Baghdad: General Buford Blount and the 3rd Infantry Division in the Iraq War (Osprey, 2023), along with authors Chris Wimmer, Peter Cozzens and E.R. Lutken discussing their books on the topic of "America at War." To watch, .
- At the 2022 Mississippi Book Festival in Jackson, the Dale Center sponsored the panel, “World War II from the Air,” which was televised live on C-SPAN. Moderated by award-winning syndicated editorial cartoonist and author Marshall Ramsey, the panel explored the Second World War from the perspective of air combat operations. The featured presenters were Kevin Maurer, author of Damn Lucky: One Man's Courage During the Bloodiest Military Campaign in Aviation History and James M. Scott, author of Black Snow: Curtis LeMay, the Firebombing of Tokyo, and the Road to the Atomic Bomb. To watch, .
