Basic expenses are the most common costs for undergraduate students. 

How to accept aid: 

  • SOAR: Loans, grants, and some scholarship awards 
  • GO System: Scholarship awards

No paper bills are mailed. In mid-July, Business Services will begin posting fall semester invoices in SOAR. 

 
Complete student account information can be found in SOAR:

  • Invoice (Student Dashboard > Student Account > View Invoice)
  • Amount owed (Student Dashboard > Student Account > What I Owe)

SOAR Access for Parents/Guardians (Making Payments)

Student invoices must be paid by the payment deadline in one of these ways:

  • Pay the full amount owed  
  • Enroll in the semester installment payment plan (balance must be $500 or more) via the student’s SOAR account 
  • Payment methods:
    • Online via SOAR  
      • Student Dashboard > Student Account > Make a Payment Credit/debit card (2.95% convenience fee) 
      • eCheck 
  • By mail
    • Check or money order (be sure the student’s ID number is on the payment)
    • Mail to: USM Business Services, 118 College Drive #5133, Hattiesburg, MS 39406  
  • In-person
    • Hattiesburg – cash, check, or money order (no credit/debit card) 
      Forrest County Hall, 1st floor 
      Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
    • ¶¶Òõapp – check or money order (no cash or credit/debit card) 
      Student Services One-Stop, Hardy Hall, 1st floor

The installment payment plan is available to students whose semester balance is $500 or more. There is a nonrefundable $50 enrollment fee, and the first installment is also due upon enrollment.
