While the Center's operating hours vary slightly by semester, evening appointments are available several days each week. Every effort will be made to schedule the first appointment within a week of the initial contact.

Making an Appointment

To arrange an appointment, call 601-266-5475 between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday or between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Friday. At all other times, a message may be left on the Center's confidential voicemail. Our intake personnel will return your call promptly, take necessary information and arrange an appointment for services. Both day and evening appointments are available. All inquiries will be treated with complete confidentiality.

If you are unsure if our services are right for you, please call the Center and inquire about services. We will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Payment for Services

Payment for services is determined based on a sliding fee scale, dependent on family income and family size. Fees range from $5 to $45 per session, payable by cash, credit card or check at the time services are rendered. The fee for USM students is $5 and $20 for USM faculty and staff. There is an additional $10 fee for the initial appointment. Please talk with your therapist if your fee needs to be adjusted. No one will be refused services due to financial constraints.

Risks and Benefits of Therapy

While most clients report positive results as they make changes in their lives, some clients experience interruptions in normal patterns, feelings and relationships. These changes may add up to positive changes in the long run, but meanwhile, individuals, couples and families may feel discomfort and additional stress.

The Center for Family Therapy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran’s status or handicap in the delivery of services.
