About TEDxSouthern Miss

TEDxSouthern Miss

TEDxSouthern Miss is an independently organized, one-day event aiming to bring together students, alumni, faculty, staff, community members, and industry leaders to share bold ideas and personal stories that inspire innovation, spark dialogue, and drive positive change — particularly in the areas of leadership, sustainability, and the coastal blue economy.

About the Organizer

TEDxSouthern Miss is organized by the School of Leadership at The University of Southern Mississippi. Housed within the College of Business and Economic Development, the School of Leadership is committed to preparing students to become innovative, collaborative, and ethically grounded leaders equipped to meet the demands of a dynamic global workforce.

Our multidisciplinary programs, ranging from undergraduate degrees in applied technology, organizational leadership, and industrial engineering technology to graduate degrees in human capital development and logistics, are designed to develop competencies essential for success in today’s interconnected world. Through experiential learning, applied research, and strong partnerships with industry and community organizations, we empower students to lead with purpose and adaptability.

With a mission to develop and advance organizational leaders at local, national, and international levels, the School of Leadership is honored to host TEDxSouthern Miss and help spark transformative ideas across disciplines and communities.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
